Sunday 30th August Morning Worship
We welcome you to join us once again at 11am for Morning Worship on Sunday 30th August, as live services have resumed at the cathedral.
The service will be led by the Dean. The Preacher is Canon Mark Niblock, Dean's Vicar, and the Lector is Ms Denise Murray, Parish Reader.
The Organist is Mr Jack Wilson, with soloist Mr Caolan Keaveney.
Following the most recent guidance issued by the Northern Ireland Executive, and endorsed by the Church Leaders, all attending are to wear face coverings as they arrive and leave the cathedral, at times when social distancing will be difficult. During the service, while seated at 2 metre distance, members of the congregation are encouraged to wear face coverings. Under the same guidance there will be no congregational singing, sanitization points are provided and individual service sheets will be placed on your seat. You will have the option of using the cathedral's contactless card reader to make your Sunday donation.
Please note that seating will be allocated from the front as parishioners arrive. And at the end of the service, after the organ voluntary, the congregation will be guided to leave from the back seats to those at the front. This is an important way to avoid people passing one another, which could give rise to an increased risk of any transmission. Those who belong to the same household will be able to sit together. However those from different households will be asked to sit separately. At present the cathedral has seating for 100 worshippers.
We look forward to welcoming you this Sunday, whether you are a regular member of the cathedral congregation or a visitor to our city, as we take the opportunity to share together in prayer, scriptures, reflection and cathedral music.
However for those still unable to join us in person, there will be a Live Stream of the service starting at 10.50am. Please click on Facebook "F" icon at the bottom of this webpage, or on the link immediately below for access.

In addition a recording of the service will be placed on the telephone audio facility (028 95 320355) during the day. We apologise that there have been some technical issues with the audio service in recent weeks. These have delayed our posting of the audio service. We hope these matters will be resolved this week, and thank those using the service for their patience.
Full details of arrangements for Cathedral Services are found below in the Dean's Letter for all cathedral parishioners, where you will also find the Order of Service to assist if you are following the service from home.
Finally we are pleased to announce that from next Sunday 6th September we look forward to all four parts of the Belfast Cathedral Choir leading singing at our 11am Sunday Morning Worship, and to a resumption of (socially distanced) Choral Evensong at 3.30pm.
