Belfast Cathedral - Services Sunday 20 February

You are welcome to join us at 11.00am on Sunday 20 February 2022, which is the Second Sunday before Lent. The service will be Choral Eucharist, with the Reverend Canon Mark Niblock as celebrant and Gillian McGaughey, Diocesan Reader, as preacher.

Please note that  seating will be by alternate rows, and we ask that 2 vacant chairs (1m) be kept between groups. Holy Communion will revert to both kind from today, using individual cups following the consecration. Tea and coffee will be served following the  service.

The musical setting for Choral Eucharist will be Mass for four voices by William Byrd and the Communion Motet, also by Byrd, will be O sacrum convivium!

Choral Evensong will take place at 3.30pm. The service marks Scouting's 'Founder's Day', with the renewal of the Scout Promise for the members of the Arrowheads Club, some of whom will be in attendance. The music will be:

Whitlock Lantana (Plymouth Suite)

Ayleward Preces and Responses (with Stone Lord’s Prayer)

Whitlock Fauxbourdon Service

Harris Holy is the true light
