Ash Wednesday Penitential Service
You are welcome to join us at 7.30pm on Ash Wednesday, 2 March, for a Penitential Service to mark the beginning of the season of Lent. The service will be Choral Eucharist, with the making of a Cross of Ash in place of the general imposition of ashes. The choir will sing Miserere mei, Deus by Gregorio Allegri, the setting will be Mass for four voices by William Byrd, and the anthem, also by Byrd, is Emendemus in melius. The celebrant and preacher is Dean Stephen Forde.
There will be a retiring collection at this service, with all the proceeds going to The British Red Cross for relief towards the conflict in Ukraine.
