Coming up in Advent and Christmas
Join us for worship this Advent as we wait with expectation for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
- Sundays: our congregation celebrates a Choral Eucharist at 11am, to which everyone is welcome.
- Weekdays: At 1pm every weekday (Mon-Fri) throughout Advent, we celebrate a much simpler, shorter and quieter Eucharist, which includes listening to a brief Advent reflection, and a time of holding silence together. This is an opportunity to take time out of the busyness of the run-up to Christmas, to be still and pray.
- Choral Evensong will take place on Friday 5th, Thursday 11th and Thursday 18th December (5:30pm) and on Sunday 14th December (3:30pm) - an excellent way to rest and be uplifted by music and prayer after an afternoon of Christmas shopping!
Highlights & Special Events:
- Sunday 30th November, 8pm: Advent Procession. Enter the season of Advent with hauntingly beautiful choral music, candlelight and Scripture, as we focus our minds and hearts on the coming of Christ.
- Friday 19th December, 8pm: Belfast Cathedral Choir Concert
- Saturday 20th December, 1pm: Belfast Cathedral Chorister Concert
- Sunday 21st December, 3:30pm: Carols in the City
- Christmas Eve, 8pm: Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols
- Christmas Eve, 11pm: The First Eucharist of Christmas
- Christmas Day, 11am: Festival Choral Eucharist
The Dean will be taking his place on the cathedral steps to raise money for local charities as part of the annual Black Santa Appeal, running this year from Monday 15th December until Christmas Eve. Stop by and say hello!
